It’s really funny how this life works sometimes… you expect one thing to happen but then a totally different thing happens instead (incase life wasn’t annoying enough) we have Irony to also deal with!
There are so many examples of this that have already happened to me (and i know i’ll have so many more to look forward to).
Let’s start with this…
I just purchased a shiny new (and expensive) Fitbit Inspire 2 to track my fitness goals of reaching 10k steps each day, i was so excited especially because it was my first week of using the new band and its features. But i ended up coming down with a cold and in my lethargic state only resulted in 3 days out of the whole week getting over that 10k line. I pretty much spent all that money just for it to basically tell me i was a bit lazy that week, haha.
And another…
I spent a year planning (or procrastinating) to move all my DJ gear over to my unit, taking a few weeks to transport 4 very heavy crates of records and even heavier turntables up flights of stairs (thank goodness i’m on the first floor), then somehow found the last bit of motivation i had left to put together some cube shelves and setup all the equipment, excited to see all the lights turn on, i placed records on the turntable to test. Only to be frustrated that one of the plugs was not working, i tried to fix it but ended up breaking the cable plug altogether (seriously, why do i bother sometimes).
Or how about this one we can all relate to…
I was so excited to get to do some fun things over these school holidays, go to movies, go shopping, eat out, spend time with family and friends. Even had plans to celebrate with a ladies night out with dinner and dancing which i was looking forward to for months (especially that we were finally allowed to dance again!!), only to hear that restrictions had come in again with Stay-at-Home orders from the government due to Covid.
And this was all around the same time!!!!
(insert “face with rolling eyes” emoji)
Irony is sitting there laughing at me right now!
It’s clear that irony & i are in a battle… (insert “flexed bicep” emoji)
No, seriously
